Kitchen Manager/Sous Chef
POSITION REQUIREMENTS

Kitchen Managers/Sous Chefs oversee every aspect of cuisine preparation, quality, and timeliness, utilize teachable moments, adjust on the fly, and always execute at the highest standards of excellence, leading others in this same manner.
In this position, you'll be required to:
- Lead kitchen prep and take responsibility of kitchen staff, cleanliness, preparation, timeliness, and cuisine at every level
- Know the full menu, including how to prepare, plate, and present every dish, leading by example and teaching kitchen staff proper methods
- Operate expo to ensure prompt and accurate delivery of dishes, and utilizing teachable moments for rest of team
- Manage kitchen staff, assisting and directing wherever needed; this is a hands-on, lead-by-example role
- Work alongside and collaboratively with Sous Chef and Executive Chef, fulfilling those roles as required
- Maintain an enthusiastic, welcoming disposition that's focused on prompt service and complete guest satisfaction
- Remain professional, accommodating, and calm at all times, working calmly and effectively under pressure
- Protects establishment and guests by adhering to sanitation, safety, and alcohol beverage control policies
- Create and maintain kitchen schedules, contact kitchen staff, maintain orderly kitchen stations, enforcing kitchen policies, and following all health, safety, and internal guidelines
- Must be able to work flexible shifts and schedules as required, including weekends and some holidays
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- Kitchen Experience: Five years minimum kitchen experience required
- Management Experience: One year minimum management experience required
- Minimum Education: High school diploma or GED
- Familiarity with industry best practices
ADDITIONAL COMPETENCIES
- Communication:
- Must be able to communicate effectively with colleagues and guests
- Basic math skill proficiency
- Bilingual required (English and Spanish)
