POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Ability to serve with a genuine smile, adjust on the fly, and always provide service at the highest standards of excellence.
At Hugo's Invitados, all that we do is inspired by our guests, and first impressions mean everything. It's critical that each and every guest feel warmly welcomed in, and treated as a VIP.
In this position, you'll be required to:
- Greet guests in a welcoming fashion, engaging promptly and energetically with a genuine smile
- Open and hold doors for guests whenever possible
- Know the restaurant layout and menu well, in order to answer any questions guests may have upon arrival
- Quickly identify ideal seating placements, as determined by guest preferences and space availability
- Guide guests to their table and present menus
- Take reservations and orders over the phone, understanding our service and kitchen software
- Remain professional, welcoming, and accommodating at all times, maintaining orderly and clean front of house
- Protect establishment and patrons by adhering to sanitation, safety, and alcohol beverage control policies
- Conclude dining experience by acknowledging the guests as they make their exist, thanking them, and if possible, holding the doors for them
- Must be able to work flexible shifts and schedules as required, including weekends and some holidays
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- Age: Must be at least 18 years of age based upon state requirements to serve alcohol
- Experience: One year minimum experience in front-facing service industry, restaurant experience preferred
- Minimum Education: High school diploma or GED
- Familiarity with industry best practices
ADDITIONAL COMPETENCIES
- Communication:
- Must be able to communicate effectively with colleagues and guests
- Basic math skill proficiency
- Bilingual required (English and Spanish)
- Professional maturity: Ability to separate emotional feelings from real issues, meet commitments, keep the promises you make, and accept the responsibility of your actions
